Fantasy Football 2019 Wide Receiver Tier Rankings – Top Dogs

If you decide to go wide receiver in the first round, target one of these guys to lead your team to success.

Odell Beckham

Will Beckham continue his fantasy success with a new team? Despite the Browns having a younger quarterback, the offenses are fairly similar. They have young running backs, solid tight ends and good supporting wide receivers.

The downside is that all of the players around Beckham are going to command a certain number of targets. Landry, David Njoku, and even Nick Chubb will eat into Beckham’s targets. Then again, he was able to produce with Saquon Barkley, Shepard and Evan Engram around him.

More from Fantasy Football

Beckham’s been dealing with a hip bruise this preseason. It’s something to monitor as you prepare for your draft.

Julio Jones

Jones puts up huge numbers every year. He caught 113 passes for 1,677 yards. The negative to Jones’ fantasy value is scoring. While he did score eight touchdowns, it was the second time he reached that number in his last six seasons.

The Falcons also have a lot of weapons around Jones. Sanu, Ridley, Austin Hooper, and Devonta Freeman will all be catching passes from Matt Ryan. But when you’re catching 100 passes a season, it doesn’t matter who’s around you.

Jones is a top-five wide receiver on a high-powered offense.

Davante Adams

Adams showed us glimpses of what he could do in 2016 and 2017 but it wasn’t until last year when he became THE guy. He caught 111 passes for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns. It does help to have Aaron Rodgers under center.

The Packers seem to be changing their focus to running the ball a bit more with Aaron Jones but that won’t keep Rodgers from throwing the ball 550 times this season.

Adams is the clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver for the Packers. They have other options like Allison, Valdes-Scantling and, oh yeah, Jimmy Graham. But, if you look at last year’s numbers, No other pass catcher had more than 56 receptions last year.

According to FantasyPros, “it took 14.9 PPR points on average to be a top-24 receiver in 2018, and Adams is the only receiver in the NFL who hit that number in every single one of his games.” Point made.

DeAndre Hopkins

Hopkins the clear No. 1 wide receiver in fantasy football. He puts up 100-catch, 1,300-yard seasons. No one can match his level of production. His value shoots even higher in PPR leagues. Those extra 110 points can make a big difference.

With the injury to Lamar Miller, Deshaun Watson will be throwing the ball a lot more. Backup running back Duke Johnson will be on the field more often as well. Hopkins has some protection with Fuller and Coutee (when healthy). Defenses can’t put all of their focus on Hopkins. Even if they could, Hopkins would still outperform them.

Depending on league settings, I could see Hopkins getting drafted as high as third overall. It would be hard for me to pass up on one of the top running backs but if you get someone like Hopkins, it’d be worth it.

That’s it. My rankings are over. Use them as a guide to making your own rankings before you draft. Participate in a bunch of mock drafts and develop a strategy. However, don’t panic when that strategy falls through after the second round. Most importantly, have fun and stay tuned to FanSided Fantasy all season long!
