Ohio State QB Justin Fields vs. Florida Atlantic

Justin Fields has yet to start a single down in college football. But when you’re a talented QB and play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, you’ll get favorable Heisman odds. However, the Georgia transfer appears to be in an ideal situation.

Dwayne Haskins had a conference shattering season in 2018 under offensive coordinator Ryan Day who has now taken over for Urban Meyer. With that, expect Fields to be put in the best position possible to succeed under Day.

Unlike the two quarterbacks before him, Fields brings a serious dual-threat ability. The combination of him and J.K. Dobbins will work nicely and give the Buckeyes a dynamic they missed in 2018. In the air, Fields has all the arm talent who could want and talented weapons that should allow him to show it off. Ohio State’s receivers aren’t as high-end as Clemson or Alabama but are plenty skilled enough to get the job done.

The Buckeyes start their season off at home against Lane Kiffin and the FAU Owls. They are coming off the disappointing 5-7 season in 2018 and have some key pieces to replace. This is another example of a vast disparity in talent between these teams and should be precisely what Fields needs to start his year off right.

Not sure how competitive this game will be by the fourth quarter, but Fields will get a chance to show off his feet and arm in a big way.
