MLB DFS top plays August 29: Pistol Pete is breaking records

Top MLB DFS Hitters – 1B

Pete Alonso  – Well the best slugger that this team has had in decades is primed for a 50 home run year in just his first MLB season. Yes, I said his first season. Pete is one of my personal favorite players, and I guarantee that he takes “old man Lester” deep at least once today.

Alonso has a .387 ISO, 40% FB rate, and massive 51% HC against LHP. While Lester’s numbers against RHH are just below average, he is in just terrible recent form. Giving up 23 runs in his last five starts. This is the first of several Mets to be mentioned in this article.

Josh Bell  – Another young star gets a favorable match-up at Coors field. I really like the idea of running both of these players today, using the other one in the utility spot on FanDuel. Bell has a 47% HC rate, 37% FB rate, and a .335 ISO against RHP this year. Gonzalez has been terrible against LHH, giving up a .293 ISO, and 48% HC to them. If you can afford it, lock in both of these studs today.

Matt Beaty  – The value plays are pretty limited for first base, but if Beaty does indeed play, he would make for a good option. He has been hitting RHP pretty well, with a .242 ISO, 33% FB rate, and 44% HC against them. Kelly has been giving up more home runs lately, and the Dodgers are possibly going to fly under the radar with Coors Field on the slate.
