Undervalued Fantasy Football ADP Targets
Target No. 7
Vance McDonald of the Steelers is also a very affordable choice, and can often be snagged in the eighth or ninth rounds of drafts. The reason he is not being valued more highly has everything to do with last season. He only finished with 50 receptions for 610 yards.

However, the Steelers traded away Antonio Brown, who received 168 targets last season. They did not really replace him, and outside of Smith-Schuster they only really have Donte Moncrief and James Washington at receiver. On top of that, tight end Jesse James left in the offseason, leaving McDonald as the only viable pass-catching tight end. 75 receptions are a real possibility, and he could come close to double-digit touchdowns as well-meaning McDonald is an excellent value.
Target No.8
What a wild ride this offseason for Dante Pettis. When the coaching staff was singing his praises early in the offseason, he was drafted in the sixth round in basically every draft – and even snuck into the fifth round occasionally. Fast forward to more recently, and with head coach Kyle Shanahan singling Pettis out on a regular basis (saying he needs to be more consistent) Pettis has fallen to the ninth round on average.
However, aside from what the coach is saying, nothing has really changed. Pettis is still the most talented receiver on the roster and shined last season as a rookie. With a year under his belt, he should be even better this year – even if the coach makes it sound like he is not performing well. Draft him with confidence in the eighth round; you will get a wide receiver with serious upside at a serious discount.
Target No. 9
Rarely do you see a player more despised in fantasy circles than Peyton Barber. Recently I had an exchange on Twitter with a well-known fantasy expert, who called Barber “the ultimate fantasy JAG.” I just do not agree. While he is not dynamic, he is an effective runner overall and is currently the starter on his team.
Much of his struggle had to do with the Bucs having the second-worst offensive line in the league last year, and per Football Outsiders the running backs were tackled at or behind the line of scrimmage on 25% of their rushing attempts. If the line improves, so will Barber. At the end of the day, starting running backs are extremely valuable, and you can get Barber in the tenth round of most drafts.
Target No. 10
Our final target is a player many have never heard of, Damarea Crockett. He is an undrafted rookie on the Houston Texans. Since the Texans cut D’Onta Foreman and lost Lamar Miller to an ACL injury, Crockett is seemingly second in line for touches behind newly acquired Duke Johnson.
While Johnson is an adequate back, he is not an especially powerful one. So there is a real chance that Crockett carves out a meaningful role on this team, potentially even as their primary goal-line back. On an explosive offense, that would be a very meaningful role. He is certainly worth a dart throw late in drafts.
