2020 NFL Mock Draft: Tua Tagovailoa heads to South Beach
By Brad Weiss
The Los Angeles Rams were the kings of the NFC last season, dominating during the regular season, before making it all the way to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, their offense did not do much against the New England Patriots, and while the defense held the Pats to only 13 points, the offense was only able to muster up three.
Still, this is a team that heads into the 2019 campaign as one of the favorites to make it back to the big game in the NFC, and that means they will be picking very late in round one. Head coach Sean McVay has put a solid group together on both sides of the ball, and having a guy like Wade Phillips as his defensive coordinator certainly helps.
When it comes time for the Rams to draft in 2020, they should look to bring in more talent for Phillips, and Anfernee Jennings is a do-everything linebacker that can really help this team. The Rams have talent on all three levels of the defense, but the linebacker group is definitely the weakest, so Jennings makes a lot of sense with the No. 31 overall pick in April.
The New England Patriots were the champions of football last season, beating the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl by the score of 13-3. Unfortunately for the Pats, that ended up being the last game of Rob Gronkowski’s career, as the future Hall of Fame tight end decided to call it quits after winning his third Super Bowl ring.
Of course, there is a chance that Gronkowski comes back for a playoff run, as he appears to still be passionate about the game, and his teammates. Still, that would not be a long-term option at the position, so adding a quality tight end like Colby Parkinson from Stanford this late in round one would be a solid get for the Patriots.
So there you have it, our last 2020 NFL Mock Draft until the 2019 NFL regular season kicks off. It is going to be another incredible year of NFL football, and as the weeks go on, we will get a better understanding of what the 2020 first round is going to look like in terms of position, and draft needs.
