Fantasy Football: High stakes FFPC draft pick 5

For reference, here is the DRAFT BOARD

Christian Kirk seems to be on everyone’s radar this year. I think it’s probably a product of my Twitter feed being obsessed with Kyler Murray and the air raid offense. I like having a solid wide receiver 3 since there are multiple flex spots and running backs can be so fragile.

Due to this philosophy, Marvin Jones was in the discussion here as well. I’m happy with the upside Kirk can bring though and he’s incredibly athletic.

Mark Andrews is a tight end that I have been targeting in all of my fantasy football drafts. Tight ends are so valuable in this league that utilizing a 9th round pick on a second one makes sense here. In fact, we could have multiple weeks where we start him in a flex alongside Engram.

Allegedly, Lamar Jackson will be throwing the ball more and has gotten better at it. I have my doubts but a tight end is always a friendly target to a poor/young passer.

I wasn’t able to watch the preseason game against the Titans where James Washington made some nice plays but my guy said he looked great. Unfortunately, he only ran a few plays with the starters and that chemistry came with backup Mason Rudolph.

Hopefully he pans out for us. I’m really nervous about this pick to be honest. We couldn’t take Larry Fitzgerald here since we just took Kirk. Sterling Shepard was probably best available but we also have Engram so it was just awkward really.

I don’t love having a pass catcher and a running back on the same team (usually). There is some serious potential with a late round flyer spent on Justice Hill though.

This is looking to be the most rush heavy offense in the entire league with Lamar Jackson at quarterback so it makes sense that the starting running back may need to split work or has a higher potential for injury. Using a bench spot for Justice Hill here is no problem and I’m happy with the upside to this pick.

The 12th pick was another wide receiver but one that is relatively safe in a PPR format. I don’t really love pass catchers on the Titans let alone anyone on that team, quite honestly.

However, Adam Humphries has a solid floor which is helpful for bye weeks. He will likely end up being a safety valve for Mariota working in the slot and those guys always help round out a team.
