NASCAR DFS Low-End Sleepers

Finally, I’ll do my best to identify a couple of drivers that come at a cheap price that could improve a few positions and score a decent amount of fantasy points that you can add to your team if you decide to build around a more expensive option.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

For a driver with multiple wins in the Cup Series, Stenhouse is a fairly cheap option on both major DFS platforms (outside the top 20). Stenhouse has struggled mightily most of the year but does have two top-six finishes and nine top-15’s this year.

A top-15 would be a decent fantasy day for Stenhouse, who is starting 21st. But after pacing the field with the fastest lap in final practice, the expectations maybe even higher. Darlington isn’t his best track (superspeedways and short tracks are where he typically runs the best) but his practice speed, starting spot, and the salary price could bode well for a cheaper option in fantasy lineups everywhere.

Corey LaJoie

Maybe a bit of a surprise to most fans, but LaJoie has been having a decent season. He has a sixth and an 11th place finish this season (both at superspeedways), but he has a 12th place finish at Charlotte, so he has shown some speed on regular ovals as well.

Even without Daytona and Talladega, LaJoie has averaged 24.1 fantasy points per race on DraftKings over his last five races. He may not be up in the top 10 or even 15, but moving up a handful of positions is all you can ask for out of someone in his price range.

LaJoie was 25th in final practice and 27th in qualifying, so there is some promise that he could gain a few spots in the race. If there are a few wrecks that he can avoid, a top 20 or 15 would be a solid fantasy day for LaJoie.
