MLB DFS – Building our bats:

You know what is great about this slate today? No Coors Field! After multiple slates with two touchdown run totals and Colorado chalk, we do not have a single offense with over a 6 IRT here today which should help us spread out the ownership in our stacks.

The Yankee game may have to deal with some thunderstorms today but it will also have some serious wind, with 12-14 MPH winds blowing out to LF. While the Yankees IRT is “only” 5.6 today against LHP Mike Minor, this New York lineup is the most dangerous on the day with a slate leading .346 wOBA and .238 ISO mark.

Against LHP, the Yankees projected lineup has a .243 ISO mark with 6 of the top 7 hitters in the lineup sporting .200+ ISO marks against southpaws this season. All of DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Gary Sanchez, Didi Gregorious and Clint Frazier have ISO marks over .200 and when you dig into their batted ball metrics against the change-up, Minor’s primary offering off his fastball, the metrics stand out even more. Six of the nine batters in the Yankees lineup have .200+ ISO marks against the change-up from LHP with six batters pushing 40% or higher HC rates.

While Minor has had a surprising year in 2019, the recent results have been far from his early season successes, giving up 14 runs in his last three starts with a xFIP of 5 and a 36% HC rate all with only an 8% swinging strike rate. Against this Yankees line-up, especially in Yankee Stadium, you are going to need to generate swings and misses to navigate through this powerful starting 9 and with the potential for the wind to aid the bats today – well, the Yankees could be a stack that tees off early and often and gets you the Rangers bullpen for more DFS goodness.
