2. UCF (-10.5) vs. Florida Atlantic

Despite the fact that McKenzie Milton and Darriel Mack Jr. were sidelined as the UCF Knights began their 2019 campaign, they didn’t miss a beat to open the season. They potentially got a new winning streak underway with Brandon Wimbush at the helm as the new quarterback spearheaded a massive 62-0 victory over Florida A&M. Make no mistake, they’re going to be a beast once again.

Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic Owls were essentially run off the field as they went to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. While the final score may have read 45-21 in favor of the Buckeyes, it wasn’t that close. When the game actually mattered, the Owls could get nothing going on offense and had no hope of stopping a mobile quarterback in Justin Fields. Things were completely one-sided.

Now, UCF goes on the road to face the Owls and are just 10.5-point favorites in this game. There’s no question that the Owls are a tough team that should be competitive against teams that don’t have National Championship aspirations. However, what we saw against Ohio State in Week 1 should be a blueprint for what the Knights are able to dow against Florida Atlantic on Saturday night.

Wimbush’s ability as a dual-threat quarterback in addition to an improved UCF defense from last year should pave the way for the Knights to deliver a diet version of the dominance Ohio State put on display in the season-opener. FAU should have little chance of stopping the UCF offense and, if they are again inconsistent on offense, the Owls won’t keep this one within two touchdowns.
