MLB DFS top plays September 4: Can the Rockies roll L.A.?
Top MLB DFS hitters
Josh Bell – Bell is an amazing young talent in the Baseball, and he will get a great match-up against the Marlins, and Robert Dugger. Miami actually has the worst bullpen in the league, the past month or so. Dugger is giving up a 62% HC rate to LHH, which is very appealing. Bell has a .335 ISO, 36% FB rate, and 46.7% HC rate against RHP. If this game goes to the pen early, it could get very ugly in Pittsburgh, make sure to get some exposure.
Matt Beaty – Another team with a pretty bad bullpen and a bad starting pitcher will be in play against the Dodgers. Senzatela has been worse at Coors Field, but what pitcher isn’t bad in home run land? Either way, Antonio gives up a solid .215 ISO, and 37.3% HC to LHH, but unfortunately not many FB. Matt is priced cheap enough and should be a great addition to a Dodger stack.
Paul Goldschmidt – As of late, Bumgarner has been pretty decent. This is a match-up that we can exploit, and at lower ownership. Madison on the year has been giving up 44% HC, and 40% FB to RHH. While Goldy is putting up a 50% HC rate, and a .294 ISO against LHH. It has been a very up and down season for the slugger, but this is an excellent GPP play and will see that reduced ownership due to the fact that people still think Bumgarner is an elite pitcher. Those days are in the past, lock and load Goldschmidt will full confidence.
Honorable mention
CJ Cron – It is a very rare occasion that I will target Eduardo Rodriguez, but this is another very low owned GPP play, that may have some potential. E Rod is known for his reverse splits, so this is somebody that most people will not have much interest in. CJ however, has a massive .348 ISO against LHP, and that is why I like him. Sometimes, better hitting just simply trumps good pitching. The recent form is there, three home runs in the past four games he started, and the low ownership makes me very tempted.
