MLB DFS top plays September 4: Can the Rockies roll L.A.?
Top MLB DFS hitters
Nolan Arenado – Ryu has been struggling very bad, and these are the times we can gain an edge late in the year when great pitchers start to struggle. Nado is one of the best in the game at hitting LHP, with a .300 ISO, 42.2% FB rate, 37% HC against them. If you look at Ryu on the year as a whole, you will find that he has been great at managing contact, except in the past three games, where he has given up 25 hits, good for 18 total runs. People will always tend to forget that you can actually play the Rockies away from Coors Field, I know it is truly amazing. This is a high-end GPP play.
Hunter Dozier – This will be a much more popular play and a great one for cash games. I mentioned earlier the numbers from Jackson against RHP, and they are very bad. Hunter has been great all year, hitting 45% FB, 42% HC, and a .251 ISO against RHP. He should be a lock for a home run against Edwin. This will be a great addition to a Kansas City stack and combined with the recent form, Hunter is my top overall play at the position.
Matt Chapman – I have yet to talk about this spot for Oakland against Patrick Sandoval. We do not have a whole lot of data about Patrick for this season. Matt has been really great against LHP, with a .325 ISO, 48% FB rate, and 49% HC. Chapman has been regularly spotted smashing lefties, and Sandoval, has not had any sort of great success in his small sample. While he has been much better against RHH, I think his numbers are a little bit inflated above what they should be. With a big K rate, above 30%, I really am not buying into this. Matt makes for a great GPP play.
