NFL DFS: Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets

Buffalo Bills

The Bills sent some shockwaves through the NFL world as they released LeSean McCoy, paving the way for electric rookie Devin Singletary to lead the backfield. He comes in dirt-cheap against a defense that was 21st in rush DVOA and allowed the 7th most rushing touchdowns last season. I expect him to carry rather heavy ownership, especially on DraftKings.

Outside of Singletary, it’s hard to roster any of the other Bills players, especially in Week 1. Josh Allen had some monster games last season, but it’d be nice to see what steps forward he’ll take before endorsing him, as it seems like an unnecessary risk to take in week 1.

New York Jets

Much like the Bills side of the ball, there really isn’t a ton to love here, even with the new acquisition of Le’Veon Bell. The Bills ranked in the top half of the league in rushing DVOA and after a year away from football and a brand new offense, this isn’t the time to target Bell in cash games. Given the fact that he’s under $8,000 on FanDuel, he does have a shred of tournament appeal given the upside.

Sam Darnold had a rather impressive rookie campaign, but there is not a single reason why he should be in your player pool this week. There are copious amounts of quarterback options at every price range with more upside. His WR1 is nursing a calf injury (Robby Anderson) and the Bills ranked 3rd overall in pass DVOA last season. This isn’t an aerial attack I trust enough to overcome even the slightest challenge right now.
