FanDuel NFL High Low – Thursday Week 1

MVP

High

Aaron Rodgers (15,000): In what might be the biggest gap in skill positions, Aaron Rodgers completely dwarves Trubisky in both upside and floor. Trubisky is no slouch, especially when he gets his legs going, but Rodgers is one of the best to ever do it, and betting on him is never a good call, especially not in the first game of the season in a rivalry game.

Verdict: HIGH

Low

Geronimo Allison (9,500): At only 9,500, Geronimo Alison may be the biggest dart throw I suggest at MVP all season. The thing is, Rodgers needs to throw the ball against this defense, and Adams can’t get all the carries. Allison is often Rodgers second favorite target, and the Bears are amazing at shutting down elite WR, so maybe Allison is the one the offense runs through.

Verdict: HIGH

MVP: Aaron Rodgers – The price is by far the highest, but there isn’t another player on the slate that offers the same stability or upside, and since FanDuel only has one set of prices unlike DraftKings, there is no reason not to roster him as your MVP.

FanDuel NFL High Low – Thursday Week 1

Wide Receiver

High

Davante Adams (14,500): Adams may not be able to get every one of the targets for the Packers, but he’s going to get the lions share. If you told me I would be getting 10+ targets from Aaron Rodgers, I’d probably be able to promise multiple catches for 30+ yards. Davante Adams is, needless to say, many miles better than me as a receiver. Therefore, Davante Adams is going to get far more than just 30 yards.

Verdict: LOW – To hit value, 21.75 FPTS are needed. That is roughly 110 yards, a TD, and 10 catches. Those numbers are possible, but against such an amazing defense, I would stay away.

Low

Taylor GabrielAt only 8,000, Gabriel offers a big chance to break the slate. His big-play ability and pure athletic talent leave Gabriel a boom-or-bust candidate every game he plays, but an injured Trey Burton, as well as an improved Mitch Trubisky,  should improve his day-to-day chances of keeping a floor.

Verdict: HIGH – 12 FPTS? Feed that to me. Gabriel has huge play ability, and one big TD can have him hitting value.
