Draftkings NFL GPP pivots: Running Back

Kerryon Johnson was high on just about everyone’s draft boards this summer as he is coming off a breakout year for the Lions are looks to be the every-down feature back for Detroit. The Cardinals ranked 29th in run defense last year and looked abysmal again in preseason on the defensive side of the football.

When you consider they are starting a rookie QB and have a mediocre offense around him then you have to like the possibility of a run-heavy game script for Johnson if the Lions lead this game throughout. He pairs nicely with the Detroit defense for some correlation (more on that later) and is way too cheap at only 5.8k.

Mark Ingram is going to make his Ravens debut against a poor Dolphins defense on Sunday. Miami was bad against the run and the pass and Coach Harbaugh sounds like he’s ready to ride his new workhorse back in this run-heavy offense. Lamar Jackson is going to vulture some rushing TDs for sure, but Ingram is a steady, dependable runner who the Ravens can use to wear down this Dolphin defense.

He’s got 100 yards and 1-2 touchdown upside in this spot and has shown that he is a capable receiver out of the backfield, too, during his time in New Orleans. At only 5.1k, he could be a steal and he’s flying way under the radar this week.
