Draftkings NFL GPP pivots: Wide Receiver

Chalk: Dede Westbrook, Chris Godwin, Adam Thielen

Pivots: Julio Jones, Marvin Jones, John Brown

Westbrook and Godwin look like strong cash plays and I’ll definitely have some ownership in tourneys, too, especially in game stacks of those games. I’m not sold on Thielen as he really saw a big drop off in production during the second half of last season, but the Minnesota offense is definitely in a great spot against Atlanta this week.

Let’s stay with that game between the Vikings and Falcons. The Minnesota offense is going to be heavily targeted in this game with Cook, Thielen, and Diggs are soaking up some ownership, and rightfully so. If we expect the Vikings to score a lot of points this week, then shouldn’t we also expect the Falcons to be in a pass-heavy game script for much of the game?

Julio Jones is a guy that can be maddening to roster in DFS, but he’s one of my favorite plays this week. As long as we hear that he is healthy and ready to go Sunday, he’s my top GPP receiver. There aren’t many defensive backs who can cover him in this league, and his QB Matt Ryan force-feeds him the ball as much as he can. Jones had a whopping 170 targets last year and has the ability to rack up yards with a large volume of short catches and by making big plays in the vertical passing game.

If you’re worried about red-zone targets, I get it and nothing is more frustrating than when Jones has 50 receiving yards on a drive and then the Falcons score with someone else. However, there’s no reason not to think that he won’t be targeted in the red zone going forward as he had 17 red-zone targets last year and 10 end zone targets. I’m seeing his projected ownership in single digits this week and that makes me want to double or even triple the field.
