Draftkings NFL GPP pivots: Wide Receiver

Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay are both in play for me this week as I am going to be targeting the Detroit offense heavily. It looks like Golladay is going to be the more popular option of the two, but I really like Marvin Jones this week.

Golladay got a lot of attention last year as he established himself as the number one receiver in Detroit. However, Marvin Jones had just as many touchdowns (5) as Golladay despite having half the number of targets and receptions and had one more end zone target (13) than Golladay’s 12. Jones actually had more air yards per target than Golladay which shows that he was used more often on deep routes. Both make great plays, but Jones has some explosive playmaking ability down the field and about the same amount of touchdown equity. He’s cheaper and will be lower owned, too.

My home run hitter this week is hopefully going to be John Brown. I’ve been a big fan of his style of play during his career and it’s too bad he had those healthy problems derail his career after some great years in Arizona. Brown is a speedy pass-catcher who is excellent in the vertical passing game and I expect the freewheeling Josh Allen to take some shots down the field against this Jets defense on Sunday. Brown is the definition of a boom/bust play this week as he could explode for a big game if he catches a long touchdown or he could end up with only a handful of targets if this Bills offense struggles.
