FantasyDraft NFL: Week 1 DFS picks
When it comes to D/ST, I always find it hard to pay up. Savings at this spot in your build can allow you much more flexibility at other positions. Though defense is important, they are not going to make or break your week. Target defenses that are at a reasonable price, in a good matchup, and have a low projected point total.

This is more than likely the most I will be paying for a defense this week. The New York Jets take on the Buffalo Bills in a game that is expected to be a low-scoring affair. The opposing quarterback, Josh Allen, is known to make some critical mistakes as well. Allen threw at least two interceptions in five of his games last year. The Bills, however, were turnover-prone all of last season giving up the most fantasy points to D/ST in 2018.
At the bare minimum price of just $3,900, it’s hard to pass up on the Buccaneers defense. Sure, this is supposed to be a high scoring game. However, I see this as a spot that could come with plenty of turnovers. They are going up against Jimmy Garoppolo, who definitely had his struggles throughout the preseason. I don’t see this 49ers offense getting a whole lot going in Week 1 with lots of new faces. If you want to save some salary cap, roll the dice with the Buccaneers defense.
Alternate Options: Tennessee Titans ($4,300), and Cincinnatti Bengals ($3,900).
