NFL FanDuel: Week 1 TE Targets – (Early Only)

Travis Kelce – $7,800 – (Cash)

As you can tell from my wide receiver selections, I am not feeling all warm and cozy about the guys at the top this week. I love the Rams although they have not been mentioned, however, they have so many options that the target share makes them all GPP plays only.

On top of my lack of trust for guys like Julio Jones this week, Travis Kelce is a necessity for me in my cash game lineup as well. Kelce will have a tough go against the Jacksonville defense, but he will likely be the top option for Mahomes this week with Jalen Ramsey shadowing Tyreek Hill. In week five against the Jags last season, Kelce caught five balls for 100 yards and was targeted eight times.

Tight end is such a volatile position, so doing what is deemed to be safe can and will backfire sometimes. However, there is just so much uncertainty with the rest of our options at this position on this slate that being able to roster a freak athlete like Kelce at a price that is lower than the top wide receivers is a value. Always compare Kelce’s price to other receivers, and remember we are working with just seven games on this slate.
