MLB DFS picks and pivots September 10: Twins to win
MLB DFS: Building our bats
Sure we have a game in Coors Field so my guess is that most who pay down for pitching will prioritize the lofty total and Rockies/Cardinals bats but with 7 other teams with 5+ IRT’s and two with 6+ (Dodgers and Twins), you can find high upside stacks at far less ownership tonight.
With 80+ degree temperatures in Camden Yards and the wind blowing out, the Dodgers against LHP Ty Blach become a clear pivot off the Coors chalk with their 6.6 IRT which is the highest of any team outside of Colorado.
However, much like my worry with Buehler, I worry that you will actually get a full 9 innings of Dodger bats here. Look at the Astros as an example – the last two games, with the division all but locked up, they have gotten out to big leads and pulled Alex Bregman in the 3rd and 4th innings to give him extra rest.
So, would it be best then to focus on the Twins who have a 6 IRT as of this writing and remain just 5 games ahead of the Indians for the division with everything to play for?
Not only will Minnesota have more to play for but they get an exploitable match-up with Anibal Sanchez who is fresh off a 3 HR/7ER beatdown by the Mets. Now the Twins are beat up with guys like Kepler, Sano and Cruz all nursing injuries but with an off-day on Monday, if the usual starters are back in the lineup, the top 5 of Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, Nelson Cruz, Eddie Rosario and Miguel Sano all have .200+ ISO marks against RHP this season with elevated FB and HC rates.
I mentioned the punts, and we have plenty – two of which are in the same game with Ryan McBroom and Danny Mendick at $3.9K or minimum price on FantasyDraft. Mendick has been red-hot since his call up going 5 for 14 with 10 fantasy points per game over his last three starts. McBroom who blasted 26 HR’s in AAA this season and Mendick who smacked 17, offer you the ability to punt with power against two of the most hittable pitchers on this slate in Ivan Nova and Jake Junis.
