NFL DFS: Quick hitters for Week 2
By Dan Palyo
NFL DFS: Vegas Info
There’s no better place to start your research than with some analysis of the Vegas lines of each game. I usually want to first identify which games have the highest totals and which games have the closest spreads.
Highest Totals
Philadelphia @ Atlanta (51)
Note that this game will only be on the FantasyDraft main slate but not FanDuel or DraftKings since it is the Sunday night primetime game.
Tampa Bay @ Carolina (50)
This is a juicy matchup for fantasy on Thursday night. However, remember that defenses usually have the advantage on Thursday as offenses have less practice time to prepare and these games can be ugly at times. If you’re playing the Thursday-Monday slate, it’s usually not a bad strategy to make a few lineups where you fade the entire Thursday night game.
New Orleans (+3) @ Los Angelas Rams (53)
These teams both scored 30 points in their opener so it’s very possible that we will see no shortage of offense in this one.
Kansas City (-8.5) @ Oakland
Another juicy matchup for the Chiefs in week 2 as they travel to Oakland to face a Raiders team that they put 75 points on in two regular-season games combined last season.
Closest Spreads
Philadelphia (-1) @ Atlanta
San Francisco (+1) @ Cincinnati
Buffalo (-2) @ New York Giants
Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) @ Detroit
Minnesota (+2.5) @ Green Bay
Cleveland (-2.5) @ New York Jets (Monday Night Football)
Biggest Favorites
New England (-18) @ Miami
After the Patriots dispatched the Steelers 33-3 on Sunday and the Dolphins allowed 50+ points to Baltimore, it feels like the spread could go even higher.
Arizona (+13.5) @ Baltimore
We should see a lot of Ravens and Patriots in cash game lineups this week and these spreads are likely going to drive ownership onto the running backs from both teams with Mark Ingram and Sony Michel both being in great spots here.
Kansas City (-8.5) @ Oakland
Highest Implied Team Totals
Kansas City – 31
Baltimore – 29.8
Carolina – 28.3
L.A. Rams – 28
