NFL DFS: Quick hitters for Week 2
By Dan Palyo
NFL DFS: Pricing
- Antonio Brown is only 7k on DraftKings this week in his Patriots debut. That seems pretty cheap for one of the best wide receivers in the game even if he is going to be eased in slowly to the game plan. Meanwhile, he’s the most expensive receiver on FantasyDraft at 16.7k and FanDuel forgot about him entirely and left him off the slate!
- Sammy Watkins had himself a career day, catching 9 balls for 198 yards and three touchdowns. With Tyreek Hill out indefinitely, Watkins could be the most popular play on the slate this week despite getting a 900 dollar price hike on FanDuel, 2,200 dollar raise on DraftKings, and a massive 4,500 dollar increase on FantasyDraft.
- Tom Brady looked as sharp as ever as he dismantled the Steelers secondary on Sunday night. Despite his 300+ yard and 3 touchdown performance, he is still only the 6th most expensive quarterback on FanDuel (7800) and fifth-most expensive on DraftKings (6400). If Lamar Jackson can do that to Miami’s defense, you have to wonder what Brady could do.
- Evan Engram caught 11 of 14 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown, yet his FanDuel price didn’t budge as he’s still 6400. Meanwhile, his DraftKings price only went up 400 dollars meaning he’s very much in play over there this week again too.
- The two top-scoring defenses last week were Tennessee and San Francisco. Both were cheap and relatively unowned in DFS contests. Tennessee is expensive this week, but the Niners are still cheap. This is just a friendly reminder that paying up for defenses in tournaments is usually unnecessary as we see cheap defenses post big games quite often throughout the season.
