NFL DFS: Quick hitters for Week 2
By Dan Palyo
NFL DFS: Stats, Facts, and Blurbs
- In Week one, 13 quarterbacks passed for 300 yards or more, while 10 QBs threw three or more touchdowns. If you still don’t think the NFL is a passing league, I’m not sure what games you’re watching.
- Lamar Jackson threw for five touchdowns and 324 yards on only 20 passing attempts in the Ravens week one win against Miami. The 59 points scored by the Ravens was a franchise record. They face an Arizona defense this week that gave up the 7th most points per game last season (26.6).
- We want defenses that create turnovers and score touchdowns in DFS, not just those who are stingy in allowing fewer yards and points. The Bears led the league in creating turnovers last season with 36 and finished second in sacks with 50. They will face a Denver team with an immobile quarterback and an offense that looked mediocre at best Monday night.
- Only three running backs had 20 or more carries in week one (Josh Jacobs, Marlon Mack, and Dalvin Cook). Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry both had 19.
- Speaking of Christian McCaffrey, he also secured 10 catches for 81 yards. His 29 touches were easily the highest of any running back and cements his status as one of the best cash targets on a weekly basis. He should be popular on any slate that features the Thursday night game.
- Devin Singletary and Saquon Barkley will face off against each other in a matchup between two of the most explosive young backs in the league. Both were hyper-productive when they touched the rock in week 1 with Singletary racking up 98 yards on only 9 touches while Barkley had 139 scrimmage yards on only 15 touches.
