2020 NFL mock draft: Dolphins tank for Tua Tagovailoa is on
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts gave the Los Angeles Chargers all they could handle on Sunday, forcing overtime, before eventually falling to the AFC West team. Still, this is a team that was supposed to have Andrew Luck under center, and be fighting for a Super Bowl spot, so for them to go blow-for-blow with a potential Super Bowl contender in their own right was pretty impressive.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett is only going to get better, and by the end of the season, the Colts will be battling for first place in a very tight AFC South. However, their record is 0-1 right now, which means they would be picking in the top half of the 2020 NFL Draft if the season ended tomorrow, and they should focus on Grant Delpit of LSU if that is the case.
Can you just imagine what a Colts secondary would look like with both Delpit and Hooker at the safety positions. This is a team that is only going to get better as the year goes on, so my guess is that they will not be picking at No. 11, but Delpit would be a perfect compliment to Hooker if they do.
The Las Vegas Raiders hold two first round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, and after Week 1, their first of two selections will come from the pick they got from Chicago for Khalil Mack. That is right, the Raiders actually won their Week 1 battle against Denver, and the Bears lost to Green Bay, so here we are with the Raiders picking in Chicago’s spot at No. 12 overall.
With this pick, the Raiders could go a number of different ways, but adding to their wide receiver group may be one of the better decisions next April. Tyrell Williams proved in Week 1 that he is a WR1, and Hunter Renfrow had a clutch grab, but the rest of the wide receiver group are veterans, and Jon Gruden may choose to go younger.
In this draft class, there are a handful of first round wide receiver, and CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma is certainly one of them. Lamb has had the luxury of catching ball from Heisman Trophy winners during his career with the Sooners, and in Las Vegas, he would have the luxury of catching them from an elite quarterback in Derek Carr.
