NFL DFS game by game breakdown: Week 2
By Joe Metz
NFL DFS: Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans
Indianapolis Colts
Coming into the week, there was a ton of ambiguity surrounding what this offense would look like and they were sure to turn a few heads. Jacoby Brissett had an efficient afternoon, tossing 190 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21-27 passing. While I won’t be targeting him this Sunday, his success gives me more confidence targeting T.Y. Hilton against a Titans secondary that ranked 21st in pass DVOA last season (20th against WR1s). Hilton proved to be Brissett’s favorite target regardless of situation, posting an 8-87-2 line on 9 targets. With Devin Funchess out, there’s a chance he could take on even more volume, only heightening his floor/ceiling combination.
Marlon Mack saw massive volume last week, rushing 25 times for 174 yards and a touchdown. If he continues to see this volume at a reasonable price, this is a player that could have the floor/ceiling combination you target every week in DFS. The Titans were able to contain Nick Chubb last week, but were a middle-of-the-pack defense against the run last season (15th in rush DVOA), making Mack a rather stable play.
It’s too hard to trust the tight ends in this system with so many others emerging around the league (Andrews, Hockenson). Eric Ebron reverted back to his stone-hands days dropping a touchdown pass last week, while Jack Doyle was hardly involved.

Tennessee Titans
One of the biggest surprises of week 1 had to be the Titans and their 43-point outburst/dismantling of the Browns. Derrick Henry saw his stretch from the end of last season continue, posting 159 total yards with a pair of touchdowns. His 19 carries where mouth-watering, but keep in mind the fact that all 75 of his receiving yards came on a dump-off pass that he took to the house. The big-play upside is there, but I have to see this consistently before I can recommend him in cash.
While Marcus Mariota is still too hard to trust in fantasy formats due to lack of volume (14-24), he was able to toss 3 touchdowns last week, 2 of which went to veteran-tight-end Delanie Walker. He saw 6 targets overall on the day and finished with a 5-55-2 line. The Colts were 29th in pass DVOA against the tight end position last season and if Walker can continue this role, especially in the red zone, he should hold a ton of value.
Corey Davis was a massive letdown, finishing without a single reception. While his big-play capabilities cannot be argued with, there’s no reason to go here until you’re given a reason to.
