NFL Recap: Lessons learned

The talk of the town is, of course, Lamar Jackson after he tossed up 5 touchdowns. We know now that Miami is truly the JV team of the league and will get beat up every week. However, there is certainly something to be learned here. Is Lamar Jackson the new goat passer? No, not necessarily. He’s definitely not bad though as the Ravens are building a team around him that’s perfect for his strengths. He only ran the ball THREE times during this game. Most people play him for his rushing upside in fantasy so be careful falling in love with that amazing stat line against Miami.

The Browns looked horrible, let’s be honest. Baker Mayfield was being drafted too high but I still think Freddie Kitchens and the high powered offense will figure this out. If anything, the bad offensive line may end up being a positive for Baker. Hopefully, they play it smart and he can start getting the ball out quickly for very efficient completions. If he gets the ball in the hands of his playmakers quickly, he can let OBJ run to the end zone as opposed to tossing it up for grabs. I’m not giving up here yet.

Hopefully, you guys found this type of NFL recap article helpful! If there are other positions or other things you’d like to look back on weekly, let me know. I think it’s incredibly important to take a look and see where you went wrong and learn from it. Don’t throw your hands up and say you lost due to variance. See what decisions you could have made differently. Hindsight is always 20/20 but that doesn’t mean it can’t affect the decisions we make going forward. Thanks for reading my NFL recap for week 1!
