PGA FanDuel Picks – Value Picks: (Below $9,000)

Sebastian Munoz – $8,700 – (Cash)

Nobody has talked about him yet this week that I have seen, and Munoz might be my favorite play of the week amongst all of these value options. I preach consistency here, and Munoz finished the season making the weekend in his last six events. On top of that, the 26-year-old from Colombia had a good enough season to sneak into the FedEx Cup playoffs. However, a T-43 at the Northern Trust ultimately ended his season.

To take it a step further with Munoz, going back to May, he has missed just two cuts in 11 events, and he finished 11th or better four times in that span. Then, of course, there is the course history factory here at the Old White TPC and the Greenbrier. Munoz played here just once two years ago in 2017, and a four-round scoring average of 67 led to a T-3 finish at 12-under par. Munoz is the main piece that will allow me to roster the studs I need this week.

Anirban Lahiri – $8,400 – (Cash)

Cash safe Anirban Lahiri? Probably not… But for my build this week it absolutely makes sense, and you can make the same case for Lahiri that you can make for other golfers up in the $10K and mid-tier range. I have talked myself into three value plays in order to roster my three studs over $11K, and the second lies here with Lahiri.

The 32-year-old dominated the Asian Tour for the majority of his career, winning seven times from 2011-2015, but he has grabbed a few top-tens over the last few years on the PGA Tour despite not being able to grab a victory as of yet. He missed quite a few cuts this past season and was in jeopardy of possibly losing his Tour card, and opting to play in the Korn Ferry Tour playoffs turned out to be a wise decision.

It won’t show up on your FanDuel game logs, nor will Tom Lewis’ win and the other Korn Ferry Playoff stats show up either as there were no DFS contests, but Lahiri is coming into the Greenbrier off of back-to-back top-tens in the KFT playoffs. He T-7 at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and followed it with a T-5 at the Boise Open to secure his card for another season on the PGA Tour.

We should have a huge advantage over the game log only casual crowd this week, and that is the main reason I think we have this advantage with the stars and scrubs build. Lahiri, Munoz, and Kevin Chappell who has tremendous upside for his price below round out my core of value I will use to complete my main build this week.
