MLB DFS advice: pitching gems September 13 – Cole against the world
Top MLB DFS Pitchers
Adrian Houser – Houser has not been going very deep into games, but his is dirt cheap today, and has been good enough to make for an excellent value play. On the year, he has a 3.72 xFIP, 24.5% K rate, 54.9% GB rate, and 38.6% HC rate.
What makes this match-up even more appealing is the fact that he will be against plenty of RHH, where his numbers are great. With a .106 ISO, 24.2% K rate, 63.8% GB rate, and 33% HC rate. Yes he is terrible against LHH, but the Cards will only roll out a few of them, and they do not have much power.
Pitch Mix – We will focus on RHH, where he is very sinker heavy using it 54% of the time, using the slider, and fastball 18% of the time. He is getting 50% whiffs on the slider, with 20% on the fastball, and sinker. He manages contact on that side of the plate very well, getting over 50% GB rates on all three of those pitches.
The ISO hasn’t been above .135 on anything since back in July. He has very average movement, and velocity on everything. He comes into this game in amazing recent form, giving up more than one run, in only two games since back in July. This is a great value play, and lets you get basically any hitter you would like on this entire slate.
