MLB DFS – Building our bats

If you are looking to go with a Verlander and Corbin build, you can go ahead and cross off the high-priced offenses like the Red Sox and Astros because you have under $7K per batter for your stack and well, those teams are just a bit out of your price range.

More from DFS

So my goal here in GPP’s is to find a cheap 6 man stack, a formula that if you read Picks and Pivots will not be new to you and if you follow the FantasyDraft leaderboards at all, you will notice the winning lineups routinely center around this kind of all-in build.

The stack tonight that fits the bill to me is the Seattle Mariners against Tyler Mahle and more specifically the left-handed stack in the Seattle lineup. Mahle has always been a pitcher for DFS purposes that we can rely on the splits with as he is playable when facing a right-handed heavy lineup but a stack against candidate when he faces a lineup full of lefties.

The Mariners tonight is projected to have 7 left-handed batters in the lineup which spells serious trouble for Mahle and his 2.4 HR/9 and .255 ISO marks against lefties in 2019. The Mariners have only one bat, Kyle Seager ($8.6K), who is over $8K here tonight so this stack comes in cheap and with multiple lefties with .200+ ISO marks against RHP including Seager, J.P. Crawford, Daniel Vogelbach and Omar Navarez.

As an example, you can go with Verlander/Corbin and a 6 man Mariners stack including Seager, Crawford, Vogelbach, Navarez, lead-off man Shed Long and Dee Gordon and you would still have $5.5K for the last two one-offs in your build.

Keep an eye on the weather as we head towards lock, specifically in Minnesota so we know how to approach Corbin but going with a double-ace approach and a cheap stack tonight is one again my preferred GPP approach. Good luck all!
