EPL DFS Mid-Tier Forwards/Midfielders

Raul Jimenez (Chelsea @ Wolverhampton, $16) – This price seems awfully low for a proven goal scorer who has three 20+ performances in four games and who has scored in two straight games.  Jimenez scored goals in chunks last year, and he’s in a solid spot to make it three straight with a goal at home against Chelsea.  Chelsea has allowed nine goals this season, which is only one less than Norwich for last in the league.  Jimenez knows how to add in a few peripherals like chances created and clearances which only boosts his ceiling in this game.  He’s one of my top options if you need a mid-priced guy.  Pairing him with a guy like Ruben Neves ($14) is a viable GPP strategy with Chelsea’s defense struggling.

Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City @ Norwich, $16) – If you lock in one of the top City attackers, you should look straight to Mahrez as your secondary piece in that stack.  In the two games, Mahrez has started this year, he has gone over 30 points without a goal.  In those two games, he had a combined two assists, nine chances created, and three shots on goal.  In a bomb matchup, I am all over Mahrez for this price.  I hope that this price doesn’t make him chalky, but he’s still a tough fade either way with the matchup, his high ceiling, and good form coming into this game.  David Silva ($16) is right there at the same price.  He has four assists in two games, but that’s a tough standard to continue.  Plus, he’s always a risk to get subbed off.

Oliver Norwood (Southampton @ Sheffield United, $13) – I’m very interested in Norwood on this slate for a few reasons.  He’s been a consistent fantasy performer for Sheffield this season with doubled digits in all four games.  Norwood also has three games where he scored more points than it will cost dollars to get him, which is always a good sign of value.  I’m confident he can make it 4/5 with a good matchup at home against Southampton.  A lot of this game will be played in the midfield so Norwood’s peripheral upside is good.  Pairing him in a mini-stack with Oliver McBurnie ($13) will save you some money for studs while still getting a guy who’s +200 to score (best odds out of all projected starters in this game).  McBurnie doesn’t offer much of a floor, but for only $13 you can’t argue with the goal upside.

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester @ Manchester United, $13) – Seriously who is doing with pricing here?  Ndidi was $16 on the 8/24 slate.  All he’s done since then is score 25.5 fantasy points in the only game he played, but his price dropped a whole $3.  You bet I’m going to take full advantage of that.  What’s even better is that this is a good matchup for Ndidi.  He thrives off defensive peripherals and that’s exactly what he going to do here.  Manchester United allow the most interceptions and the second-most tackles in the league.  This is set up for Ndidi to have a massive game.
