Brighton face Burnley at AMEX Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Premier League season returns after the international break. On Saturday, Brighton host Burnley at AMEX Stadium. The Seagulls and Clarets have both started the season by picking up four points in their first four games. Both clubs are coming off of losses against the two teams at the top of the table. Brighton lost 4-0 to Manchester City in their last game, while Burnley lost 3-0 to Liverpool.
The Seagulls have lost two straight games. In addition to losing to City, Brighton lost 2-0 to Southampton. Brighton spent big in the summer, signing Neal Maupay, Adam Webster, and Leandro Trossard for a combined €63.75 million to avoid relegation for a third straight season. Trossard is tied with Maupay for the team lead in goals but he will miss Saturday’s game with a groin injury. Maupay and Webster will likely start on Saturday and play a key role for the Seagulls against Burnley.
The most interesting thing to happen to the Clarets over the international break was the injury suffered by Danny Drinkwater, who was beaten up following an incident at a nightclub. Drinkwater is on loan at Burnley from Chelsea but his spot at the club is in jeopardy after the incident. The Clarets early success this season can be attributed to Ashley Barnes. After scoring 12 goals last season, Barnes is off to an incredible start to the season, scoring four goals in his first four games. Barnes will lead the attack for the Clarets this season and will play a major role in their success this season.
