NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 2 Wide Receivers

Michael Gallup, DAL at WAS (DraftKings-$5,600/FanDuel-$6,200/FantasyDraft-$11,200/Yahoo-$17)

Gallup wasted no time validating the hype in his sophomore campaign, kicking off his second NFL season with an explosive 7-158 line versus the Giants. Dak Prescott targeted his dynamic wide-out on seven occasions, and Gallup could certainly rake once again in Week 2 versus an injury-hampered Redskins secondary.

Washington could be down both Quinton Dunbar (knee) and Fabian Moreau (ankle) at right cornerback, and Josh Norman is likely to remain occupied with Amari Cooper on the other side for the majority of the contest.

Gallup certainly has the skills to maximize a match-up versus a potential third-string cornerback in Aaron Colvin who has plenty of experience, but who’s still looking for his first career interception after five-plus seasons and 59 games.

The Redskins allowed the fifth-most touchdown receptions (21) to wide receivers last season, and they fell apart in the second half in Week 1 versus the Eagles while allowing 15 catches (on 21 targets) for 214 yards and three touchdowns to DeSean Jackson and his fellow wide-outs.

John Brown, BUF at NYG (DraftKings-$5,200/FanDuel-$6,300/FantasyDraft-$10,500/Yahoo-$19)

Brown came through as one of our suggested value plays in Week 1 against the Jets, with his clutch 38-yard touchdown catch completing the Bills’ comeback and pushing him to a 7-123-1 line in his Buffalo debut.

Now, the speedster gets a crack at a Giants secondary that Gallup and Amari Cooper eviscerated in the opener. Big Blue ultimately allowed Dallas receivers to bring in 18 of 22 targets for a Week 1-high 341 yards and two touchdowns during their loss to the Cowboys, despite a secondary with plenty of notable names.

The Bills displayed a willingness to attack in the second half once they got down to the Jets last week, and there’ s a good chance they take a slightly more aggressive tack earlier in the contest this week to avoid a multi-possession deficit in the same stadium for the second straight game.

Brown encouragingly saw 10 targets versus Gang Green, and there’s a chance for similar volume again at his bargain prices, giving him plenty of opportunity to handsomely pay off his salary.
