NFL DFS bargain bin- Week 2 Tight Ends

Darren Waller, OAK vs. KC (DraftKings-$3,300/FanDuel-$5,400/FantasyDraft-$6,400/Yahoo-$13)

Waller quickly began delivering on his summertime hype by putting together a 7-70 line versus the Broncos in Week 1, yet his price remains extremely reasonable across the industry.

That puts him right in play again in Week 2 as an excellent cost-savings handcuff with Carr versus a Chiefs defense that allowed eight catches on nine targets to Jacksonville tight ends in Week 1, along with the fifth-most receptions (87) and second-most touchdown receptions (10) to the position in 2018.

Waller accounted for 30.8 percent of the Raiders’ targets and 25.6 percent of Oakland’s air yards in Week 1, while the Chiefs surrendered the most air yards (5,788) in the NFL last season.

With Waller’s ability to get downfield consistently and Carr somewhat short on viable big-play targets after Antonio Brown‘s exit, the athletic tight end should play another big role in a game where the Raiders will have to remain especially aggressive to have a chance of keeping pace.

Austin Hooper, ATL at PHI (DraftKings-$3,100/FanDuel-$5,800/FantasyDraft-$8,100/Yahoo-$13)

There are going to be plenty flocking to the Ravens’ Mark Andrews and the Lions’ T.J. Hockenson as other value options at the position, and they’re also certainly worthy of consideration.

However, for those looking to differentiate in full-day slates that include the Sunday night game, Hooper makes for an intriguing contrarian play that could pay off. In the Week 1 blowout loss to the Vikings, Hooper garnered plenty of production in the second half and finished with a 9-77 line to pace the Falcons.

The Eagles saw Vernon Davis burn them for a touchdown in Week 1 and will likely be devoting plenty of resources to stopping both Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. That should open up the middle at times for Hooper, who did not have a drop in the opener, versus a Philly defense that tied with several teams for fourth-highest catch rate (67.0 percent) allowed last season.
