NFL DFS Week 2: Cash game breakdown

Chris Thompson – FD $5300 DK $3900

Chris Thompson is an absolute mortal lock of the week on DK in my opinion. His price is outrageous and with new of Guice being out and Thompson already being the pass catching back anyway, I can’t pass up that value. He’ll be getting a full point per reception on DraftKings and even with it only being half point on FanDuel, he’s still a great play there as well.

I struggle to pay down at running back sometimes because usually the move is to play the studs at that position and pay down or in the mid-range elsewhere but this NFL DFS pricing is just incorrect due to the Guice knee news.

Dalvin Cook – FD $7900 DK $7200

I honestly haven’t heard anyone talk about Cook this week in NFL DFS and I’m not sure why really. He had an unbelievable week last week against the Falcons and yes the Falcons are a team we should always be targeting by playing running backs against them but still.

Last week really confirmed what this team wants to do – play good defense and establish the run. Cook is so dynamic he could break one at any time and the more they give him the ball the better chance he has to do that.

Not to mention this week I think it’d be even smarter of them to do because it would keep the ball out of Aaron Rodgers hands. I’m a big fan of Cook here and I don’t think Green Bay’s defense has improved that much I just think Chicago played a terrible game.

Sony Michel – FD $6800 DK $6200

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a spread quite like this New England and Miami matchup. Last I checked it was sitting at 18.5 points in favor of New England. What that means for you non-degenerates out there is that currently, New England is expected to win by more than 18 points.

That’s insane in the NFL. Usually a spread is around a field goal and it’s pretty lopsided if it’s close to a touchdown. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen a spread this large in NFL. In college football sure but NFL? No way.

What that tells me is this game could be over by halftime and the Pats will run the clock out with Michel. This is not a cash game play for me whatsoever due to the risk. The logic makes sense but then you remember it’s Bill and the Patriots and they have 4 running backs that could touch the ball so while I get the idea and reasoning behind it, it’s not for me.
