NFL FanDuel: Week 2 top plays (Early only!)
NFL FanDuel: Week 2 QB Targets – (Early Only)
Lamar Jackson – $8,200 – (GPP)
We have plenty of options, but it looks as though we are going to have to pay up a bit at the quarterback position this week. Tom Brady looked great last week against Pittsburgh, and he has a cake match-up against the Dolphins and figures to be a popular GPP play.
Even cheaper yet, Dak Prescott was phenomenal throwing four TD’s last week against the Giants and posting 33.4 FDP, and he too has another plus match-up albeit on the road in Washington.
For me this week though, I am looking for complete GPP upside, and I am considering paying up to the second most expensive QB on the slate. Jackson went 17-for-20 last week for 324 yards and five TD’s in the 59-10 rout of the Dolphins, and what possibly went totally ignored was the fact that he didn’t have to run the ball.
Jackson’s upside remains with his rushing ability and if he is going to be efficient throwing the ball then he has QB1 potential every week. Baltimore will host the Arizona Cardinals this week, and they surrendered 385 yards and three touchdowns to Matthew Stafford in their tie with Detroit in week one.
Although LJ is spendy, his new deep threat rookie Marquise Brown helps offset this high price tag and also helps complete a stack that connected for two touchdowns in the first quarter last week.
Josh Allen – $7,500 – (Cash)
I looked long and hard below $7,500 for my cash game QB this week but it just does not look viable. There is value to be had elsewhere, but it really makes it tough going any higher than this at the QB position on this slate.
Allen and his Bills had to rally to beat the Jets in week one on the road, and he struggled for most of the game until the offense clicked in the fourth quarter. He threw for 254 yards and a touchdown and added 38 yards and a TD on the ground, as the Bills rallied to win 17-16.
This week, Buffalo will be on the road again, but they won’t be going far again as they will now face the Giants in New York, as these teams meet for the first time since 2015. I think the Bills will have to play catch-up once again in the second half, and I expect Allen to keep this team in the game with his legs as he has done week in and week out since he took over a starter last season.
He used his new weapon John Brown often as he targeted him 10 times last week and the pair connected on Allen’s lone touchdown pass. The match-up really isn’t ideal being it lacks the higher game totals we look for in our cash game targets, but Allen should get us where we need to be
