NFL FanDuel: Week 2 WR Targets – (Early Only)

Juju Smith-Schuster – $8,100 – (GPP)

Juju missed parts of last week’s game with a toe injury, but he is off of the injury report as of Friday and is all systems go for this week’s home match-up against the Seahawks.

It was best not to run him out there anyway as the Patriots had their way with the Steelers in the blowout, and Smith-Schuster finished the game with six catches for 78 yards. Ben Roethlisberger and this entire offense struggled, but things could be a lot different for Pittsburgh in their home opener this week.

The Seahawks almost lost at home holding off the Bengals 21-20. The Seattle defense allowed Andy Dalton to throw for over 400 yards with John Ross III having a career day, and the thoughts of a Big Ben / Juju stack in GPP’s is right up there with Lamar Jackson and Hollywood Brown in terms of upside.

Hopefully, the fact that this offense only scored three points will scare the masses away, and the ownership stays where I think it will be.

Keenan Allen – $7,700 – (Cash)

My top spend up at the WR position this week is shaping up to be Chargers veteran, Keenan Allen. He was targeted 10 times in week one against the Colts stout passing defense, and finished with an impressive 8-123-1 stat line, as the 27-year-old is still proving to be a top threat for Philip Rivers.

The injuries seem to be a thing of the past as Allen played in all 16 games in each of the last two seasons, and while his numbers dipped a bit last season, he certainly got off to a great start in week one.

At first glance, you may look at this as a novice fan and say why are we targeting a guy against a shutdown corner in Darius Slay? Well, thanks to heads up from Joe Metz and his game-by-game breakdown here at FanSided Fantasy which I will link at the end of this article, I remembered that Slay no longer shadows opposing top WR, and Allen works out of the slot.

Looking even deeper which Mr. Metz did, you will see that the match-up for Allen is better than good. My gut is telling me the Chargers are going to manhandle the Lions, and I am locking in both Allen and Ekeler in my cash lineup.
