DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Flex

Matt Ryan – $10,800

If the pass catchers are going to go off this week for the Falcons than so should Matt Ryan. I like Ryan playing at home in the dome against a very susceptible pass defense. I think you can stack the QBs in what should be a high scoring affair in some lineups.

Carson Wentz – $11,000

If this game does shootout, you will want some pieces of Carson Wentz. With a total of 52.5 look for both quarterbacks to light up the opposing defenses making Wentz a solid GPP play. With so many options in the passing game and a great matchup for his running backs, a Wentz, Sproles, Sanders stack is something that could explode should he distribute his passing touchdowns to multiple players.

Zach Ertz – $9,200

Carson Wentz favorite target is Zach Ertz. With a total of 52.5, expect a bounce back week for Ertz after only catching 5 balls for 54 yards against the Redskins last week. I also have no problem at all using him as a contrarian Captain play vs a Falcons defense that can be exposed via the pass.

Alshon Jeffery – $8,800

After DeSean Jackson’s explosion last week, I will be fading him this week in what should be more of a Jeffery and Ertz type day in Atlanta. With a high scoring game likely, Jeffery should see 6-10 targets in a beatable matchup against a sub par Falcons defense.

Devonta Freeman – $7,000

This is the best priced play on the slate, as Freeman should be heavily involved in both the running and passing game. Anytime you can get 14+ touches at almost a minimum starters salary in an extremely high scoring game you plug that player in often. I will have Freeman in a lot of lineups Sunday night pairing with Sproles and Sanders as my highest owned players.
