DraftKings Showdown Slate – Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles
DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Cheap Options
Mohamed Sanu – $5,200
While I prefer Jones and Ridley to Sanu, I want as much of this Falcons passing game that I can get on this slate. Much like Hooper, Sanu figures to get roughly 4-7 targets in a favorable matchup against this Eagles secondary.
Austin Hooper – $4,600
If you need a player under 5k that should get 4-7 targets and a chance at finding the end-zone Austin Hooper is one of your better options at only $4600.
Miles Sanders $4,800 / Darren Sproles – $3,600
If they’re good enough as Captain plays you must include one or both in several lineups Sunday night.
Dallas Goedert – $800
The Eagles run two tight-end sets more than most and Dallas Goedert is the best backup tight end in the NFL. It would take a couple of catches for Goedert to pay off his salary Sunday night, I am looking for him to be targeted 3-5 times with a lot of work in the red-zone.
Ito Smith – $2,400
If Brian Hill is inactive again, look for Ito Smith to provide a great cheap option this week as he can easily get into the end-zone while spelling Devonta Freeman.
DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options
Matt Bryant – $3,200
With a high total and lots of offense expected in this matchup, Matt Bryant is the best special teams option on this slate. The Falcons struggles on offense have usually been in the red-zone, which makes Matt Bryant a fantastic option on this slate at only $3200.
Jake Elliott – $3,400
While I prefer Bryant to Elliott, both kickers are in-play on this high scoring slate. With so many cheap options, I will likely not be using two kickers in any lineups on this slate.
DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Game Script Thoughts
The Eagles open as a 1.5 point road favorite against the Falcons on Sunday Night Football with a total of 52.5. In what would be a great coming out party for Miles Sanders should he get the majority of the work, he will likely be subdued in thanks to the running back by committee approach in Philadelphia. I love both offensive matchups and think this game goes over the posted total in what should produce some offensive fireworks. I believe the Falcons respond to the shellacking delivered by the Vikings last week and get the 31-28 win Sunday night.
