Fantasy Football picks: Week 2 single game breakdown

Game theory is something that I have had to really work on going into this season, and it really takes your game to the next level once you start to get the hang of it. With single game slates, game theory is a little bit different due to the 1.5x MVP point slot. Usually, this spot is used for the most popular play on the slate, which is normally a quarterback. However, I will tell you a little secret, very rarely do chalk MVP quarterbacks win you a single game tourney.

On the first single game slate of the year, Jimmy Graham was the MVP for the few lineups that tied for first place in the Milly Maker tournament. I am not saying play David Njoku in your MVP spot, but I will tell you to think outside of the box with this position, and don’t just plug-in Baker because he is the obvious play. I am saying plug-in a guy like Nick Chubb, who will be a popular flex player but will not be as popular in that MVP spot. OBJ, and Mayfield will be the top options for the bonus spot, but Chubb has the best chance to get you deep into tourneys. I talked about the game script looking great for him, and even if the Browns get up early, he should still be involved.

My next recommendation would be Jamison Crowder. While I didn’t write him up, I think he could still do well in GPP’s. He will be able to take advantage of Robby Anderson being covered by stud corner Ward, and I promise you the nobody is plugging in Crowder for the bonus spot.
