Lamar Jackson ($31)

Lamar Jackson absolutely exploded in week one for 324 passing yards and five touchdowns. This line was despite ceding most of the fourth quarter work to backup Robert Griffin III. In a departure from what many have may expected from him, Jackson ran the ball only three times for six yards. RGIII who only played the fourth quarter actually had more carries than Lamar (4-3). Jackson looks to be in line for another big day against an Arizona Cardinals defense that relinquished 385 yards and three touchdowns to Matthew Stafford. The Cardinals are missing suspended All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson and are starting a rookie (albeit a talented one) in Byron Murphy in the defensive backfield. Jackson appears to be a potential value play at his salary rank and should be strongly considered for single or multiple entry lineups.

Chris Carson ($21)

Chris Carson may have had a forgettable week one from an efficiency standpoint, but that was not the major storyline coming out of Seattle. Chris Carson saw a workhorse like 21 touches in week one. He saw a 76 percent snap share and saw 77 percent of the backfield touches. 2018 first round pick and popular sleeper Rashaad Penny saw just six touches. Six of Carson’s 21 touches were receptions. He led the team in both targets and receptions. Success rate on runs is one of the major distinguishing factors between Carson and Penny. Penny has more talent, but Carson has more heart. Some like Michael Irvin may say that ‘he has that dog in him’. He is a determined runner that rarely goes down at first contact. He puts forth maximum effort on every play. That is how you win jobs in Seattle. This week Carson is facing a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that struggled when the Patriots defense did not telegraph the run by putting Sony Michel into the game (23 snaps, 15 carries). They managed to have their way with and stuff Michel repeatedly, but gave up 5.38 yards per carry to James White and Rex Burkhead. Carson should be in for a monster day in what looks to be another ground centric gameplan for the run heavy Seahawks.

Mark Ingram ($21)

Mark Ingram seems to have landed on his feet in Baltimore. The New Orleans Saints moved on from him this offseason as they had no intention of losing out on other top running back free agents while Mark Ingram waited for Le’Veon Bell to choose a destination. The time crunch got to the Saints and they signed Latavius Murray to fill the big back role. Ingram would end up signing with the Baltimore Ravens and has returned to a true starter role. There are once again running backs for him to share the workload with in Baltimore but neither Gus Edwards or Justice Hill have the talent of Alvin Kamara. Operating as the clear lead back for the Ravens, Ingram exploded for 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries vs Dolphins. Granted the Dolphins are not a great barometer when it comes to evaluating the opposing offense but Ingram showed that he is indeed the RB2 with RB1 upside we thought he was heading into the season. Ingram is a strong play in a matchup the Ravens are favored by 13 points in.
