PGA FanDuel Picks – Mid Tier Picks: ($10,000 – $11,000)

Lucas Glover – $10,800 – (Cash)

This week will be a more balanced approach for my cash games, and as much as I wanted to fade Glover because he just looked so defeated at the TOUR Championship, this price is just way too low compared to the field.

Now I said pretty much the same thing about Marc Leishman last week, and he was a huge flop as he withdrew after day one, but Glover was ultimately so much better than Leishman last year that I am not worried here.

Glover made a great run to get a spot in the TOUR Championship, but finishing 29th out of 30 golfers I am sure was not what he had hoped. My first thought was that this could spark the funk we have all been expecting out him, but in thinking deeper all this guy did last year was bounce back.

On top of being extremely consistent, Glover has fared well here at the Sanderson Farms Championship in the past as well.

He has teed it up here at the Country Club of Jackson in four of the last five years, has not missed a cut, and came pretty close to a win with a T-5 in 2016. Because he is under $11K here this week in this field, he should be chalky in cash games, but you never know.

Vaughn Taylor – $10,300 – (Cash)

I try to keep this PGA FanDuel picks article as hybrid as possible in terms of GPP and cash games, but for the second week in a row, I am hesitant to enter multiple lineups.

I did the small 25-max for every tournament it was offered last season starting with the Sentry TOC, but I was team one lineup last week, and because of the amount of uncertainty we have again this week, I am leaning towards doing the same.

There are certain players like Vaughn Taylor I just like a lot more than the guys around him in their respective price ranges. Except for at the top of course.

Taylor is a crafty vet who doesn’t hit it as necessarily long as most of the younger guys on tour, but he continues to make cuts at an extremely high rate. In fact, Taylor has not missed a cut in ten straight events going all the way back to April at the RBC Heritage.

He finished the season with rounds of 67 and 66 at the BMW Championship for a T-16 finish, but it wasn’t quite enough to move him inside the cut for the TOUR Championship.

On top of the incredibly solid recent form, Taylor has played very well here at the Country Club of Jackson in four trips over the last five years.

He T-20 in back-to-back years in 2014 and 2015, then returned in 2017 to score his best finish here with a T-10. Last year was his worst of the bunch, and he solid once again with a T-25. At just over the average salary plateau of $10K, Taylor is an ideal cash game play this week.
