2020 NFL mock draft: Bengals land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
The Philadelphia Eagles were shocked by the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, as a Julio Jones screen pass for touchdown ended their chance of starting the year out at 2-0. Still, this is an Eagles team that is going to be in the running for the best in the NFC all season long, as long as they can keep Carson Wentz upright.
Looking at this roster, they are loaded all over the place, as they have talent on both sides of the ball that many other teams would die for. When it comes time for them to pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, I like them to target the edge rusher spot, where a kid like Yetur Gross-Matos could make an instant impact.
Gross-Matos plays his college ball at Penn State, so I am sure that there are already a ton of Eagles fans who are also fans of his work. He is the kind of player who can set the edge, has great speed for a guy his size, and should have no problems adjusting to the pro game. For the Eagles, he would be a steal at No. 21.
The Atlanta Falcons came away with a shocking victory in Week 2, as they erased the memory of a tough Week 1, beating the Philadelphia Eagles on a national stage on Sunday Night Football. A Matt Ryan to Julio Jones screen pass with a little over two minutes left in the game proved to be the clincher, as this team looks to get their season back on track for good.
Remember, it was not too long ago that the Falcons were one of the best in football, and they have the talent on both sides of the ball to get back there in 2019. Ryan is one of the better quarterbacks in the NFC, and if they can get consistent effort from Devonta Freeman, they have the weapons to make noise in a wide open NFC South.
One are of the Falcons roster I believe they should target in the 2020 NFL Draft is in the defensive backfield, where they should look to add Trevon Diggs from Alabama. Diggs would join a group that already features Desmond Trufant, and 2018 second rounder Isaiah Oliver, but we all know you can never have too many talented corners.
