2020 NFL mock draft: Bengals land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans looked very good in Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season, blasting the Cleveland Browns, who many had money on to win the Super Bowl this season. In Week 2, the Titans came back down to earth, losing a heartbreaker on the road to the Indianapolis Colts in a huge AFC South division game.
However, this is a Titans team that could make a serious run at a Wild Card this season, especially if Marcus Mariota can start putting good starts together. During this past offseason, the team went out and spent good money on edge rusher Cameron Wake, who, through the first two games of the season, looks like he dipped into the Fountain of Youth.
The Titans will need more than just Wake on the edge moving forward, especially if Father Time starts to creep up on this freak of nature. With their first round pick in 2020, they should look to bring in Mustafa Johnson from Colorado, who is one of the premier edge rushers in college football, and would be a perfect successor to Wake moving forward.
For the second year in a row, the Raiders franchise will have multiple first round picks, with this one coming via the Chicago Bears due to the Khalil Mack trade. With their three first rounders in 2019, they brought in talented players on both sides of the ball, and with the No. 14 overall pick here, they should consider doing the same after bringing in Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons earlier.
During the 2019 offseason, the big talk surrounding the Raiders was the fact that they were able to trade for Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Antonio Brown. While that relationship crumbled prior to the start of the 2019 season, it left the Raiders with a hole behind Tyrell Williams in the wide receiver room, and they should look to fill it with this pick next April.
When it comes to the wide receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft class, few have the kind of skill set, or resume that Colorado’s Laviska Shenault Jr. has. He can basically do it all with the football in his hands, can run the deep routes, as well as over the middle, and could even take care of the return duties if the Raiders saw fit.
