DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Flex

Gardner Minshew – $9,200

While I will play a couple of lineups with Minshew as my Captain, I prefer him to be in my flex. After taking over for Nick Foles early in Week 1, Minshew has thrown for 488 yards and three touchdowns to only one interception. Both of these quarterbacks are likely the second options in tomorrow nights game plan in what should be a run heavy approach by both. I do believe however that Minshew is the better play than Mariota as DeFilippo is more likely to abandon the run and has the better defensive matchup to exploit.

Dede Westbrook – $7,400

The one player that Minshew has not been able to get on track with thus far has been Dede Westbrook. After only catching 1 of 5 targets for three yards last week, Westbrook sits behind Conley and Chark in order of Jags pass-catchers.

Chris Conley – $7,000

Since leaving New England, Malcom Butler has been torched routinely by opposing offenses. The benefactor for that matchup looks to be Chris Conley and D.J. Chark as they play over 90% of snaps outside. The veteran Conley will be the lower owned of the three Jags pass-catchers while having the best matchup making him my favorite Jaguar receiver in the flex.

Corey Davis – $6,000

In what should be a low scoring game and a possible matchup against Jalen Ramsey, Davis is no more than a flex play in lineups that include Mariota. While he has the talent, the quarterback play is simply not enough to consider him anything more than a flier this week.

A.J. Brown – $5,600

Another flier for the Titans tomorrow night will be A.J Brown. I prefer the Jags pass-catchers over Brown and Davis but will include them in Mariota stacks.
