Fantasy Football Lineup Advice – Tight End

BOOM:

Greg Olsen, CAR @ ARI

What’s my age again? After battling injury and falling outside of the top-45 at his position in 2018, 34-year-old Greg Olsen has bounced-back and looks healthy, despite reportedly nursing a back injury. He’s been a hobbled Cam Newton‘s best friend early-on, seeing 18 total targets (third-most among tight ends) up to this point. Last week, owners who decided to roll with Olsen were rewarded handsomely as he dropped 110 receiving yards on the Buccaneers.

Newton may not be able to suit-up this weekend, but that shouldn’t worry owners. In Week 3, Olsen gets to face off with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have been, by far, the worst defense in the league against TEs, being terrorized by the position to the extent of 31.1 FPPG. Still missing both starting corners Patrick Peterson and Robert Alford, this is a defense owners should continue picking on.

BUST:

Delanie Walker, TEN @ JAX

After bursting onto the scene in the season-opener against the Browns, compiling 22.5 fantasy points while scoring twice, Walker came crashing back to earth in Week 2. Facing the Colts, the veteran tight end managed just four catches for 39 yards (7.9 points). Ultimately, Walker’s success this season is going to hinge on how well quarterback Marcus Mariota is able to move the ball.

Walker draws a tough road matchup with what should be a fired-up Jaguars defense after starting the season out 0-2. While Jacksonville’s offense has struggled, they still boast one of the best defensive-units in the league. They’ve been middling against TEs through two weeks, but have still held the position to under 10 FPPG. In an offense without much firepower, look for the Jags to key-in on Walker, who has been far-and-away the team’s best pass-catcher.

Sleeper:

Will Dissly, SEA vs. NO

Early in his career, Dissly has struggled to stay healthy, but he’s been productive when on the field. The Washington alum exited early in Week 1, but was back in action last week, catching five passes for 50 yards and two TDs (22 fantasy points) from Russell Wilson. The Saints won’t be his easiest matchup, but Dissly has proven to be a favorite red-zone weapon of Wilson. In shallow TE-position starved for talent, Dissly is a fine streaming option.
