NFL DFS: Denver Broncos @ Green Bay Packers

Denver Broncos

After losing their week 2 game in heartbreaking fashion, the test only gets tougher for the Broncos as they head into Lambeau to take on the undefeated Packers.

Joe Flacco is never a player that I look to target in DFS and that doesn’t change here. If I want any type of exposure to this passing attack, it’d be through Emmanuel Sanders. After seeing 23% of the target share in Week 1, he spiked to 26% in week 2. The Packers have a swarming secondary, but he’s likely to avoid Jaire Alexander, who gave Stefon Diggs fits left and right last week. Kevin King isn’t a massive downgrade over Alexander, as he still has a high-quality PFF grade of 73.2, but Sanders’ grade of 85.5 is elite to start the season, making him a rather safe option.

Due to a matchup with Jaire Alexander and the overall risk with this offense, Courtland Sutton isn’t a player I’ll be looking towards this week.

Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman have been in a near-even committee, with the Lindsay recording 17 touches last week compared to Freeman’s 16. Until we have clarity as to who will emerge from the committee, there’s no reason to target them against a stout front 7.

Green Bay Packers

After week 1 was much of the same in the Green Bay backfield, Aaron Jones commanded 27 touches compared to 14 in week 1, accounting for 69% of the backfield touches. If he sees a similar workload in a game where the Packers should jump out to an early lead, he profiles as a high-floor/high-ceiling play in all formats.

Davante Adams made slight work of Xavier Rhodes and the Minnesota secondary with a 7-106 line. He’s set to see a lot of Isaac Yiadom, who’s posted a well-below-average PFF grade of 49.8 through the first two weeks. He’s another uber-safe option. Pairing him Aaron Rodgers in tournaments seems like a worthwhile strategy at relatively low ownership. Rodgers has been his normal efficient self through the first two weeks and with an easier matchup than his first two weeks, we could see his first big game of the season.

Outside of the big three, it’s hard to pinpoint who will have a greater impact between Jimmy GrahamGeronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. While Graham and MVS had the more productive week 1s, it was Allison who secured a score last week. All three are too hard to trust in any format.
