DraftKings NFL GPP pivots: Week 3 – truth hurts

DraftKings NFL GPP pivots: Defenses
Chalk: Dallas, New England
Pivots: Minnesota, New Orleans
I want to post a disclaimer here that I plan to use both the Patriots and Cowboys defenses a lot in my lineups this week. While both are incredibly expensive and highly owned, they also both are positioned to have big weeks against two of the most inept offensive units in the NFL this week.
The Dolphins have been giving the ball away like crazy with a -6 turnover ratio in their first two games, while the Jets are starting their third-string quarterback against a defense that has allowed only 3 points in eight quarters this season.
The Vikings defense is one pivot that I really like this week as they are 8-point favorites at home against the Raiders. While Oakland’s offense looked good week one, they took a step back last week with a mediocre performance against a bad Chiefs defense.
They had a poor first half against the Packers last week allowing 21 points but limited the Packers offense in the second half. I like this Vikings defense a lot and I think they have some upside here against a turnover-prone Derek Carr.
The Saints defense is incredibly cheap this week (2.2k) and will cost you only 4% of your salary cap on DraftKings. They are facing a Seattle offense that struggles to protect their quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Saints, meanwhile, have racked up 9 sacks in their first two games and will have to pressure Wilson if they are going to slow down this Seattle offense. Over the last few years, they have been a “funnel defense” that is stout against the run and forces teams to pass.
The more pass attempts for Wilson in this game, the more opportunities there will be for New Orleans to rack up sacks and interceptions.
