Fantasy football picks: Week 3 FanDuel GPP TE’s

Greg Olsen – Old man Greg is the heart and soul of this offense. He may not be the flashiest player, but he has a lot of determination, and is a tough gritty player. Arizona has been lit up by the likes of TJ Hockenson and Mark Andrews, neither of which are the same caliber of player that Olsen is. With Cam becoming more likely to play, that actually helps out Greg. He is Newton’s go to man over the middle of the field, with 18 targets in the first two games, going for over 100 yards in his last performance. I love the match-up, price tag, and projected ownership on my favorite tight-end.

Vance McDonald – Very interesting takeaway from week two, Vance played 91% of the snaps ironically in a game where Big Ben was injured. This is no coincidence, as he has emerged as Mason Rudolph’s favorite target in that game. He caught seven passes, for two scores, with three more targets than he got in week one. San Francisco is not amazing at defending the tight-end spot, so if McDonald gets a similar snap count as he did last week, he could have a great game at his cheap price tag.

OJ Howard – With everyone calling for Howard’s head already, I am looking at him as a prime bounce-back candidate this Sunday. He is still getting more snaps, and more routes than Brate, so that’s not the issue. It’s the play calling that has been hindering Howard. Winston and his inability to pass the ball, has resulted in a more conservative approach in the play calling, and more running plays. New York is terrible at defending tight-ends, this is the perfect chance to take some risk on Howard here.
