Cleveland Browns

Proposed trade: 2020 first rounder, CB Greedy Williams

Why they should do it:

The Browns were on a roll the last two years acquiring playmaking stars in the draft and via trade. Their biggest hole, the offensive line, seemingly has no answer in sight as long as Trent Williams is costing more than a first-round pick. Moving their upcoming first rounder and a luxury like Greedy Williams would give them an elite corner duo with Ramsey and Denzel Ward.

The team has money they can allocate to Ramsey as well as offering the Jags a cheap and blossoming starter in Williams, so they fulfill all requirements.

On the field, the Browns would have some of the fiercest personalities and highest peaks we’ve seen in years from one roster. If the offense works, they’d have Super Bowl potential.

Why they shouldn’t:

What can go wrong with so many big personalities that ride the highs and struggle during the lows? Everything. John Dorsey must be wary of adding another alpha that reacts so outwardly when losing.

It’s also fair to wonder whether losing Williams, another cheap, cost-controlled contract in their first-rounder, and depth that won’t be afforded after Ramsey’s extension, is actually worth it for another star. Ward and Williams are good enough for the future and eventually this roster will be quite pricey as-is.

The Browns should pass.
