EPL DFS breakdown – Sunday 9/22/2019

EPL DFS: Top-Tier Forwards/Midfielders
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Aston Villa @ Arsenal, $23) – Just like last Sunday, it doesn’t take much to understand why to play Aubameyang. He has five goals in five games, he’s the best scorer on the slate’s largest favorite, and he has the best odds to score on the slate.
Villa has kept three straight clean sheets, but that streak is about to end on the road against Aubameyang and company.
Aubameyang has a great ceiling with his ability to score multiple goals, and his ownership should be down on this slate with other studs available. Don’t feel bad about spending on him Sunday.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool @ Chelsea, $21) – Mane has four goals in four starts this year, along with an average of three chances created per game. Chelsea’s defense is allowing the second most goals per game right now.
They gave up four goals to Manchester United and got tagged for two goals each by Norwich, Sheffield United, and Wolverhampton. Mane should be able to pick this defense apart, plus he adds in more defensive peripherals than just about any good forward.
Mane is finally more expensive than Mo Salah ($19), which should have happened a little while ago. Salah is fair option here as well with three good games in a row, but I have to give the edge to Mane until further notice.
John McGinn (Aston Villa @ Arsenal, $17) – This is a little bit of a tough price to pay for a guy like McGinn with other studs on the slate, but it’s useful to have a guy like him to pair with goal scorers.
McGinn has 16+ fantasy points in every single game this season by really filling the stat box. Arsenal seems like matchup that McGinn can have some success in.
Arsenal isn’t a great defending team so McGinn should be able to create some chance, but Arsenal will attack often so McGinn should collect plenty of defensive peripherals as well. On small slates, I like to try and get a few players that I know will get me some safe points. McGinn is that kind of player on Sunday.
