EPL DFS: Goalkeepers

Bernd Leno (Aston Villa @ Arsenal, $16) – I do not pay $16 for Arsenal GKs often, but Aston Villa really is not scoring much at all with only four goals in their five games.

Leno has only one clean sheet this season, but he’s making a ton of saves (4.4 per game).  If he gives up just one while making four saves and getting a win bonus, that will put him at 16.5 fantasy points as a floor.  A clean sheet could get him into the upper-20s.

Lukasz Fabianski (Manchester United @ West Ham, $12) – After their four-goal game in week 1 against Chelsea, Manchester United are only scoring one goal per game.  They are missing several of their starting attackers as well.

West Ham’s defense has been good after week 1 when they gave up five to City.  They’ve only conceded two goals in the four games after that, and they’ve kept two straight clean sheets.  Fabianski has big-time potential if they can challenge United and keep them scoreless.

Vicente Guaita (Wolverhampton @ Crystal Palace, $10) – Guaita has played two games at home and he has not allowed a goal in either game.  Palace have had one of the better home defenses dating back to the beginning of last year, and I don’t see reason for that to change.

Wolverhampton isn’t playing so well right now, so Guaita could keep another clean sheet.  The problem with him is that Palace don’t win many games, so the win bonus is rare.  However, if you need a cheap GK, he’s your guy.
